Located in Schramberg, Germany, Junghans is the largest watch and clock manufacturer in the country. Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law Jakob Zeller-Tobler began the company in 1861 (then called Junghans and Tobler) and began making wristwatches in 1927. Swiss designer Max Bill began designing for the firm in the 1950′s and created a wall clock that is included in The Museum of Modern Art.
Jungahns are known for their exact precision as well as beauty. In the late 1980s, Junghans introduced the first radio-controlled table clock on the world market. The brand is well known in Europe and remains , for the most part, unknown in the States.
